It could have been muddier and colder for Dallas on January 30 . . . but not much. You northern friends will smile, but about 200 Southwesterners braved freezing weather on dedication Sunday afternoon to attend the brief ceremony and rejoice with us in the new office at the CAM Center.
With paving delayed by prolonged rainy weather, we were glad for frozen ground for parking in the pasture-land nearby. Contractor Merwin Seay worked hard to ready the building and property, laying temporary sidewalk for visitors.
Serving the church, Camino Global will journey with Spanish speakers everywhere to transform communities, equip believers, and reach the world.

William and Minnie McConnel arrived in Costa Rica in 1891. By the turn of the twentieth century, the work of the Central American Mission had expanded to include Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua.

Dr. Charles Caldwell Ryrie passed away on Tuesday, only weeks before his 91st birthday. He was a man of God who left an incredible mark in so many spheres of his long ministry, not the least of which was his life work in the area of systematic theology, and his legacy of leadership in our own mission. Among the many key ministries he was involved in throughout his lifetime, Dr. Ryrie also served as a board member of Camino Global for 23 years. He served 16 of those years as the board's Chair, from January 1969 to November 1984. When Dr. Ryrie began his board service in January 1962, the role of Board Chair was called President, the Board of Directors was called the Executive Council, and of course the mission itself, at that time, was the Central American Mission.
