PRAYER NEEDS BY COUNTRY

 PRAYER NEEDS BY COUNTRY

CENTRAL AMERICA

   Guatemala:
  • Pray for SETECA (The Central American Theological Seminary), which celebrates its 80th Anniversary in 2009. SETECA is preparing the next generation of Spanish-speakers to lead the Church in Latin America and globally.
  • Pray for rest and renewal for the Guatemalan missionaries after hosting several mission teams and college-age this summer.
  • Pray for Dave and Helen Ekstrom as they finish up their last New Testament translation project and get the recording program successfully loaded on a small device about the size of a small PDA which is called the "Megavoice." The God story recording is complete and the NT recordings are in the planning stage.
   Honduras
  • Recent weeks and months have been politically unstable. Pray for peace and safety for the citizens of Honduras as well as missionaries from CAM and partner organizations.
  • Pray for the Honduras Radio Project, a joint venture with Mission Aviation Fellowship to connect isolated church leaders through communication technology.
  • Pray for the continued growth and effectiveness of the CAM Honduras team who enjoys a strong CAM presence and are blessed with a good relationship with the national church.

  SOUTH AMERICA:

   Uruguay
  • The Uruguay Team launched in January 2009. Two families are already on the ground in Montevideo. Pray for 4 more appointees currently raising support to join the team later in the year.
  • Pray for the team’s efforts to model and teach biblical reconciliation and peacemaking among and with Uruguayans.

NORTH AMERICA:

   Mexico:
  • Pray for rest and renewal for CAMEX missionaries who have hosted multiple work/ministry teams and college-age interns this summer
  • Pray for the Puebla Bible Seminary, celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2009. Additional faculty and significantly increased funding are needed.
  • Pray for FAMEX, a young and growing Mexico-based missionary sending agency. Pray for their ability to sustain a Mexican couple serving in the Middle East, as well as capacity to train and send many more Mexican missionaries globally in the future.
  • Pray for the finances, faculty and interim leadership of Puebla Christian School (PCS) while appointees Joe and Jenna Blakey raise support to serve in Puebla long term.
  • Pray for continued harmony and bond of peace within the missionary body and with the national church
   Hispanic USA:
  • Pray that Hispanic church planting ministries in more than a dozen U.S. cities will continue to grow in number and maturity.
  • Pray for the Mobile Bible Institute, a theological education program without permanent walls, training Hispanic ministry leaders across the U.S. in their own local contexts.
  • Pray For the adaptation of Latino missionary families to this country’s multi-faceted culture
  • Pray for more English-speaking churches to partner with CAM to reach their Hispanic neighborhoods.
  • Pray for the more than 40 million Hispanics living across the U.S.; America’s fastest growing ethnic group.
   Canada
  • Pray for opportunities to strengthen relationships with the Hispanic churches in Canada, and for opportunities to begin new Hispanic ministries in strategic areas within Canada.
  • Pray for ministry opportunities through the Los Pinos Nuevos Seminary, that people will be blessed and encourage
  • Pray for enhanced relationships with supporters to encourage their participation financially and prayerfully
  • Pray for CAM’s Canadian missionaries serving in Latin America

EUROPE:

   Spain
  • Pray for CAM’s newest team in southern Spain (city of Ubeda), and for appointees currently raising funds to grow this team in the coming months and years.
  • Pray for the long-range vision of developing ministries in southern Spain as a receiving, training and sending hub for mobilizing Spanish-speakers to reach nearby Eastern Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
  • Pray for the work being done with the Spanish Bible Institute (IBSTE as abbreviated in Spanish) with CAM missionaries Pedro and Eunice Sanjaime and Jerry Parkerson.
  • Pray for the ongoing ministry of The Madrid Gospel Choir, led by CAM missionary Nancy Rodeman. The choir’s excellence has received national acclaim and has proven to be a culturally innovative way to present the Gospel to large numbers of Spaniards and other nationalities living within in Spain.
   Albania:
  • Pray for for effective follow-up and lasting results from the large annual summer outreach to families through a series of day camps.
  • Pray for transformational growth among the members and leaders of the Tirana Bible Church.
  • Pray for more workers to grow the team serving in Tirana, Albania’s capital city.

GLOBAL:

  • Pray for CAM’s field structure transition during 2009 and 2010. After years of hierarchical structure, CAM missionaries on all fields are being organized into community teams, where decisions for implementation of ministry strategy will take place on much more of a local level.
  • Pray for the mission’s finances in this stressed economy. Operating budgets, which translate into capacity for ministry, have contracted by as much as 25%. While there are signs of improvement in giving, CAM needs a significant increase in revenue to return to stability.
  • Pray for transformational impact in CAM’s primary focus on disciple-making among, with and through Spanish-speakers. Pray that this vision will continue to propel CAM toward greater effectiveness in current fields, as well as the launch of new fields globally.

We would consider it a joy and privilege to pray for you as well.  Let us know how we can pray for you.
