ARTICLES AND ESSAYS

As Christians we know God is good and that he provides “all our needs, according to his riches and glory”. So it should come as no surprise when he provides for us, even in miraculous ways. He is, after all, able to do immeasurably more than all we ask of him. Nevertheless, there are times when he manages to astonish us with just how good he is. 
 
The end of 2009 was one of those times for us at CAM International. Last year was, without a doubt, a time of great uncertainty in many ministries, including CAM. As we cut budgets and tried to readjust expectations in light of the largest crisis since the Great Depression – which was another storm CAM weathered by God’s grace – we sometimes wondered if we would be able to accomplish what was necessary for CAM to move forward and not simply eek along in maintenance mode.
 
Much time was spent in prayer asking for wisdom and provision. We prayed that the cuts we made would be effective and that God would provide in an overwhelming way that could only be a result of the work of his hand, not our own efforts. Still, as November drew to a close, income was still tens of thousands of dollars under budget. But God hears our prayers and was saving a surprise for the last month of the year. In December God answered our prayers, in a BIG way.
 

God used your gifts to allow CAM International to end the year not only without a deficit, but well in the black and with a $25,000 matching gift promised toward our needs in 2010. Praise the Lord that he saw fit to bless CAM in this manner. Thank you for the part you played. It is an encouragement to us and truly a blessing to our Lord.
