“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not we fear, though the waters of the sea roar and be troubled…” Psalms 46
CAM International has a long history of helping meet the needs of Spanish-speaking people impacted by natural disasters. CAM has been deeply and effectively involved in rebuilding churches and houses, providing grief/trauma counseling, and presenting the gospel in many such hard hit areas. Hurricane Katrina (Louisiana, United States),Hurricane Stan (Guatemala), the earthquake in Mexico City, Hurricane Mitch in Honduras, and the earthquake in El Salvador are some tragic events in recent memory to which CAM has responded. Most recently, CAM International responded to the needs of those affected by tragic flooding in Tabasco and Chiapas, Mexico.
Through prayer, comfort, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in aid (provided by friends and supporters of the mission) CAM International has helped to relieve suffering and begin the process of rebuilding homes, churches, and communities.
One of the many factors that make CAM’s relief efforts so effective is that funds are channeled and accounted for through a trusted and proven network of CAM-related churches, pastors, and missionaries. This same network provides ongoing, extended post-relief assistance.
